SBIG's Financial & Legal team consists of the following members: Ahmad Alanani (Director of Risk Management & Securitization), and Stephen Puglia (Senior Risk Analyst).
He leads the group's securitization, structuring and risk mitigation efforts within targeted sectors and serves as the key liaison with external partners to ensure maximization of returns from term securitization opportunities. Ahmad is also responsible for risk assessment of potential and existing credit facilities.
Prior to Joining the Shaheen Business and Investment Group, Ahmad had worked with MD Sass Investor Services in New York as part of the credit derivatives sales team. He has also worked as an equity & futures trader for RBC Capital Markets in Toronto where he developed statistical arbitrage models for listed equity derivatives. He also conducted high-frequency intra-day trades on the NASDAQ, AMEX and NYSE.
Ahmad has a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics & Economics, from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Science, Financial Engineering, from Stevens Institute.
Stephen then dedicated himself to post-doctoral research at The University of Washington, Caltech and Ohio State University before accepting the position of a Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst at The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) in New York. At the DTCC, Stephen was responsible for modeling fixed income Value-At-Risk and managing liquidity risk for members of the NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ.
