Infrastructure Development - Bhikki Power Plant

No matter how big the project, SBIG has proven it can deliver.

From Pakistan to Albania to Jordan, SBIG is involved in significant infrastructure projects aimed at ensuring the economic well-being of future generations.

SBIG's INFRA POWER SYSTEMS and the PAKISTAN-BHIKKI POWER PLANT
Pakistan, ambitious and expanding, has enormous potential for growth - but the Government of Pakistan forecasts a net deficit in electrical power of approximately 5,500 MW by 2010.

To safeguard Pakistan's sustained future economic growth, Independent Power Plants (IPPs) are an urgent priority.

Helping address the situation, the SBIG subsidiary Infra Power Systems is developing a nominal 800 MW residual fuel oil (RFO) fuelled power plant in the Bhikki area of Pakistan, 25kilometres from Lahore, close to Faisalabad, Sheikupra and Gujranwalla, which are all major, rapidly growing, commercial centres.

As part of the Build Own and Operate plant, Infra Power Systems assembled a world class consortium which includes Soluziona of Spain, PB Power as the owner's engineer, Mott MacDonald of Pakistan as the Design Engineers, and Clifford Chance as legal representative.

This project has passed the feasibility study stage and SBIG has already submitted a proposal to the Government of Pakistan seeking local permits.
